I have almost always been involved in some type of sport growing up.  I started playing football at a young age.   As I got older, I got involved in track and field, cross country, and basketball.  Whether it was part of a team or just playing pick-up, I love being on the go.  Sports made me feel involved, and made being active fun.

Growing up my dad had always been an inspiration to me to be in the gym.  He introduced me to health and fitness; he was a physician’s assistant and competed in body building competitions as a hobby.  When I was about 14 years old, I discovered weight lifting. This became a big passion for me.  I experimented in almost every workout program and fitness theory out there.  It was not until I made a phone call to Tim Devine at CrossFit Groton that I would discover where I truly needed to be.

I attended classes pretty regularly for a year at CFG before attending my Level 1 Certification.  I continued to learn from Tim and his team of great coaches. I was also fortunate enough to attend the Olympic Lifting Course with legendary coach Mike Burgener. I continue to build on the things I learned at CFG and from Coach B.  CrossFit has changed my life for the better.  To me it is more than just another fitness theory or workout plan.  I think that the community is what makes it such a great lifestyle.

My wife Jessica has also become to be a fan of CrossFit, and I have two children, Nolan and Lily.  I am also currently active duty Navy.
