2017 CrossFit Inguz Scholarship Recipient Joe LoDuca.
We are very excited to announce the recipient of the 2017 CrossFit Inguz Scholarship in honor of Timothy Devine. This year we had the privilege of giving the award to our very own Joe LoDuca. Because of the generosity of the CrossFit Inguz family we were able to give Joe $1000 towards his schooling. As a reminder, all proceeds raised during our annual 4th of July Hero WOD ‘Devine’ go towards the scholarship fund. Joe epitomizes the scholarship criteria, which are as follows:
“The scholarship is given yearly to a student athlete who is dedicated and passionate about their sport and schooling. The individual is constant and relentless in the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their lives. They lead by example and make those around them better. They act with integrity, doing the right thing regardless of the situation. They embody the true definition of sportsmanship; they are motivating, encouraging, and positive.”
Joe was a 3 year varsity lacrosse player and 2 year varsity soccer player at Ledyard High School, captaining both teams. He was a founding member of the Student Leadership Council at Ledyard High School, a student representative on the Board of Education, and a member of the National Honor Society. Joe also attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference, worked as an assistant coach for youth soccer, and volunteered his time with numerous organizations. He will be attending the University of Connecticut in the Fall of 2017 to study Materials Science and Engineering as an Air Force ROTC cadet. We wish to congratulate Joe on all his success and wish him the best in the future.
