The easiest way to get started is walk through the doors of your local CrossFit affiliate.
Always easier said than done, right? Many factors can be areas of concern for people. A lot of the common ones we hear are:
- I need to get in shape before I can start
- The movements look complicated and challenging to do
- Everyone in class will be looking at me
- What if I am the last to finish the workout
- I don't want to get injured
- Can I actually improve my strength or athletic skill doing CrossFit
There are a whole lot of reasons people hesitate to start an exercise routine in the first place, let alone think about trying CrossFit.
Let’s look at a few reasons why CrossFit is beneficial.
- Improvement in the 10 general areas of fitness; strength, stamina, endurance, flexibility, power, speed, accuracy, coordination, agility, and balance.
- Group classes provide a sense of community, encouragement, and friendly competition, which will drive your motivation to improve.
- Coaching from experienced, knowledgeable, and caring people who not only want you to be a part of the gym but also want you to show up and see the benefits for yourself.
If you have ever been confused about where to start at a regular gym, with many different machines and weights, and the options seem overwhelming, a CrossFit gym might be the best choice for you.
CrossFit isn’t about specializing in any area of fitness; however, once you start doing CrossFit, you will realize you are capable of so much more than you thought. Many of our members have started with CrossFit and, over the years, have participated in marathons, triathlons, Olympic lifting, Hyrox, and CrossFit competitions.
The majority of members have lost weight, gotten stronger, improved their self-esteem, and overall have a better understanding of what it means to be healthy. Having a goal is one way to help you achieve success, and sometimes you might not be entirely sure what that goal is. That is where we come in to provide guidance.
When you start with us at CrossFit Inguz, you will go through a comprehensive fundamentals course that includes four classes focusing on the twelve foundational movements used in CrossFit. In a small class or individual setting, you are given instruction on movement, with the focus on just learning, along with experiencing how our regular classes are run. After the four classes, you receive a fifth class where we offer an InBody bioelectric-impedance analysis scan to obtain your baseline body composition. We will discuss your goals and provide you with the necessary steps to make progress within your first 180 days. At the 30, 90, and 180-day marks, you will have the opportunity to sit down with an experienced coach who will guide you through the process.
How do you start an exercise routine? You walk through the doors, try a free class, see for yourself, or come in and talk with our coaches to learn more, and we will help you.
