12 Hours of Heroes at CrossFit Inguz

 

Inguz Nation…join us on Saturday, September 1st for our first ever 12 Hours of Heroes event. Starting at 7:00 am we will complete one Hero WOD every hour, on the hour until 7:00 pm. All Hero WODs will be completed in teams of 2 or 3 people, depending on the workout. THE HERO WODS

 

Athletes can choose to participate in a single workout, or multiple. Teammates can vary from WOD to WOD, so feel free to change up your teams. The cost will be $5 per person, per WOD, and will be collected on the day of the event in cash or check made out to The CrossFit Inguz Scholarship Fund. All proceeds will be split between the Navy SEAL Foundation and our own local scholarship.

 

How do I sign up?

  • There is a poster board on the office whiteboard with the 12 Hero WODs. Add your team to a slot under the WOD(s) you would like to complete.
  • You must have a full team to sign-up. Teams will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Once a WOD is full no additional teams will be allowed…no exceptions.
  • You must be signed up prior to Sept 1st.

 

Logistics of the Event

  • Each team will have ONE piece of equipment per movement (i.e. one barbell, KB, wall ball, pull-up station, box etc.). Expectation is that teams will scale each movement appropriately to accommodate all team members.
  • Therefore, mixed gender and Rx/scaled teams will be required to scale down to the lowest weight, skill, box required by their teammates.
  • Each WOD will have a coach designated as the captain for that workout. That coach will be your point-of-contact to explain how the WOD will be executed within your team, equipment set-up, scaling options, and timing.
  • There will be a strict 35 minute time cap on all WODs. Workouts will start at 10 minutes past the hour and will be completed by 15 minutes prior to the top of the hour.

 

Our Goals

  • Create an exciting and challenging day, supervised by CrossFit Inguz coaches, that anyone can participate in. All levels are encouraged to complete any of the workouts.
  • Foster team work and strengthen the Inguz community. Each workout will be structured differently to create a team dynamic within the different movements of the WOD. We encourage you to team up with different members of Inguz throughout the day.
  • Honor the fallen Heroes and raise money for a good cause. All proceeds will be donated to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the CrossFit Inguz Scholarship fund.
  • HAVE FUN!! This is not a competition…there are no winners, no losers, and no scores. The goal is to put in the work, build community, and raise some money in the process.
